Polwhele s Biographical Sketches of Cornwall, printed in Truro by W. Polyblank. The two volumes appear complete in x, 118,[2], 28; 146,52 pages, with portrait frontispiece and the 6 plates that are called for within the 2 volumes. 12mo, bound in contemporary paper covered boards with original printed labels. A very scarce work. Condition: The books measure 11.5cm by 19.7cm. The bindings are holding firmly, upper hinges cracked and backstrips chipped down the spines, corners and edges bumped.The textblocks are holding quite firmly, first few gatherings of vol 1 a bit loose. Pages generally in good clean condition, with some light toning and offsetting, the plates slightly foxed. Original plain end papers, both FFE s with old owners ink inscription.
